Scientific Director of the CeLiveR project and of the Center for Liver Studies at Ospedali Riuniti di Bergamo, Mario Strazzabosco is also Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Milano-Bicocca and an adjunct full Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine, where, prior to entering the faculty of Milano-Bicocca was Professor of Medicine and Director of Transplant Hepatology. At Yale Dr. Strazzabosco is Director of Hepatobiliary Cancer Program and Deputy Director of the Yale Liver Center. His areas of interest focus on the cell biology of biliary epithelium and biliary pathophysiology of the biliary tree. The laboratory of Prof. Strazzabosco was among the first to isolate and characterize biliary cells, to reveal their physiological properties and their adaptive responses to liver damage.
